We stayed at West Winds during our Dales Way walk. Angela could not have been more welcoming. She has really put herself into the shoes (boots!) of the weary walker and thought of so many details. Our stay was a delight from the moment she welcomed us into her beautiful kitchen until she waved us off the next day. The rooms were comfortable, quiet and full of lovely touches including a scrap book on local history, playing cards, spare toiletries. Bathroom very modern and well equipped. The tea and muffin on arrival were so welcome. Breakfast was homemade bircher muesli (so good, we copied the recipe and I made some yesterday!) . Our packed lunch was outstanding. I just can't fault this place and planning to return already. Thanks Angela!

Stayed here whilst walking the Dales Way. Gorgeous, clean rooms with comfy beds. Lovely, friendly welcome from Angela with cake and a hot drink. The garden was beautiful and full of spring colour. Breakfast was tremendous - lots of choice and delicious. I had porridge, and then the most amazingly rich and yellow scrambled eggs from Angela’s shared hens, with garlic roasted cherry tomatoes. Yum! Great packed lunch - hummus and falafel sandwich was super tasty. Would definitely stay here again

Angela couldn't have been anymore welcoming.  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay which was for one night on our Dales Way adventure.  Our room & bathroom were beautiful.  Breakfast was lush.
We loved every minute.  Very highly recommended.  Thank you so much Angela.

Very friendly and helpful host. For the price the accommodation was of an exceptionally high standard. Room was very clean and comfortable. We had our own separate landing and bathroom. Only a very short walk from the Buck Inn for food and refreshment. Delicious plentiful breakfast. Would highly recommend.

Four nights and four packed lunches later – we are now rolling home!  Thank you so much for the beautifully clean and welcoming home from home.

We stayed at The West Winds Cottage B&B during our Dales Way journey. It's a couple minutes off the main path, but well worth it. Tucked behind the Buck Inn, the cottage is quaint, with a beautiful front garden.  Angela greeted us with a friendly smile, good conversation, and delicious tea and cakes.
We stayed in the Tawny room (all the rooms are named after birds), which had sole use of the separate WC. The room was perfect for our needs, coming with 2 chairs, as well as tea/coffee, and a tin of shortbread! It also had a hairdryer, and extension cord, and places to hang our gear. The bathroom was beautiful, looked newly renovated, and the shower had great water pressure. Shampoos, conditioners and body wash were also provided.
West Winds does not serve dinner (the Buck Inn immediately next door does), but provides an amazing breakfast, and offers a packed lunch option at an extra charge (reasonably). Both can be selected via order form the evening prior. The options for both are varied, and respectful of dietary restrictions. Angie's grilled tomatoes in her full Yorkshire breakfast were the best on the route, and her cheddar and chutney sandwiches hit the spot when we were enjoying the views on the Cam High Road. She uses her own chickens' eggs for the brekkie, and many herbs come from her garden as well.
We really appreciated our stay here; it was so cozy and hospitable, and speaking to Angela was like chatting with an old friend - we felt so at ease.

Stayed one night - four of us - walking the Dales Way. From arrival to departure Angela went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Tea and award-winning muffins in the garden on arrival were a real treat. Breakfast was excellent and the rooms perfect. We hope to come back.
